Becoming a Member
There are two different types of users on NCI Online. NCI members and NCI Online users. NCI Members are companies/people who have joined NCI. NCI Online users are companies/people who have joined NCI Online through the web site. Each group has different access and rights on NCI Online.

Logging In
A login portal can be found through out the site. The first place is up in the top right hand corner. The second place can be found on the Navigation Bar found on the left side. The third place is on NCI's Forums in the Navigation bar. If you try accessing any industry professional area, you will be asked to login. Enter your user name and password then click login. Remember passwords are case sensitive. Click Here to Login.

Forgotten Password
If you have forgotten your password you can use " Forgot Your Username/Password". The Forgot Your Username/Password link is located at the bottom of every page. Fill out the correct information and a new password will be sent to you via email. Click Here if you have forgotten your Username/Password.

Logging Out
To logout of NCI Online, click "Logout". Logout is located in two places. The first place is up in the top right hand corner. The second place is on NCI's Forums in the Navigation bar. If you forget to logout your session will be held till the server expires you. This means in most cases, you can log onto NCI Online on one computer. Navigate away from our site (which we don't know why you would), then return to NCI Online on the same computer and still be logged in. We recommend always logging out of NCI Online and closing the browser when

1. Leaving your computer.
2. Using a Public computer.
3. Using a computer other employees have access to.

Restriction and Access
NCI Online offers several different levels of Access.

NCI Members
NCI members are companies/people who have joined NCI. They have full access to NCI Online.

Sub Users
Sub users are NCI Members. They are employee's of a company who is a current member NCI.

NCI Online Users
NCI Online users are non NCI Members who have signed up on NCI Online. They have limited access in area's such as Forums, downloads, Newsletters, Knowledge Base, and more.

Restriction and Access Problems

Receiving Errors
Errors will happen from time to time. A note is automatically sent to the administrator. The error should be fixed within a 2 business days.

Downloads
The Downloads section is broken down into different global categories. Technical, Sales & Marketing, Training, etc. Each global category are broken down into sub categories for easy navigation. Only NCI members have access to the NCI downloads. Free downloads can be accessed by both NCI Online Users and NCI Members. NCI Online users can find rotating free downloads on the home page.

Search Feature
This search feature is like most search features, you can enter key words or a sentence. For general results enter one keyword. For the best results enter two or more keywords. Also try not to use common words like, the, and, a, etc.

Knowledge Base
The knowledge base is broken down into different categories. In these different categories the knowledge base contains two different types of questions, Industry Professional questions and NCI Member questions. All questions can be viewed by any one but only NCI Members can see the answers for NCI Member Questions. Industry Professional Questions and answers can be viewed by any one.

Newsletters
NCI puts out a monthly newsletter. Only NCI members have access to the Newsletter and downloads. A link to the latest newsletter can be found on the right hand side under Hot Clicks. Or you can veiw the newsletter archive from the navigation bar menu button. By Click the Newsletter Name, Ex: June Newsletter 2004, you will be able to look at the full newsletter. Or you can click on any part of the newsletter, Ex: Article Name or a Download to see just that part of the newsletter. Old and broken links are removed from all newsletters.

Calendar/Training Program Schedule
The Training Program Schedule shows all current Training Programs. You can register for a Training Program by clicking the "Register Now" button next to any Training Program date. Same as the calender. The calendar is setup like a regualr calendar. You can navigate month by month by using the Arrows just below the navigation bar. Or you can select a month at the bottom of the page.

Manage Account
Manage Account has several different areas.

NCI Online Users: NCI Online users can update their profile information and view their order history.

NCI Members: NCI Members have access to Update Profile and Settings, Order History, Update Find a Contractor Profile, PerformanceTalk Control Panel, Manage Sub Accounts, and Create Sub Accounts. Create Sub Accounts and Manage Sub Accounts are only seen by NCI Members that are primary account holders.

Subusers: Subusers of NCI members have access to Update Profile and Settings, Order History, Update Find a Contractor Profile, and PerformanceTalk Control Panel.

Update profile and Settings
Update profile and Settings holds all you profile and settings info. You can update your company information. If you are a NCI Member if you update your company information NCI will be notified of any changes so we can keep our records up to date. Below your company information are the site settings. The site settings include, privacy features, general site features, and forum features. At the bottom of the page there is a place to change your password. You password must be 5+ characters long.

Order History
This section allows you to view all past orders. You can also print any invoices.

Update Find a Contractor Profile
If your company is a NCI members and an employee of your company is certified in either Air Diagnostics & Balancing or Carbon Monoxide and Combustion Analysis your company will appear on the Locate a Certified Contractor. The information you enter here will appear when some one looks up your company. Currently the only extra information that displays when your profile is viewed is the company web site.

PerformanceTalk Control Panel
PerformanceTalk is a seperate service. It requires a different username and password. By clicking the "PerformanceTalk Control Panel" button you will be taken to the PerformanceTalk page.

Creating And Managing SubUsers
Sub Users can only be created by NCI Members. They are employee's (of the same company location). Creating a sub users allows employee's from your company to have access to NCI Online, with their own account and login.
